Michael Jordan G.O.A.T

Every generation has it’s heroes, and who can forget their dad telling them about the “greatest” athlete of their eras? Dick Butkus was the greatest linebacker to ever suit up, running through walls and bench pressing Toyotas. Babe Ruth was incomparable, belting homers while eating hot dogs and battling fascism. Jesse Owens was so fast that when he raced he often traveled through time…
There is always something.
Luckily, we are blessed to live in the YouTube era, where I can quickly prove to my 3 year old son why Michael Jeffrey Jordan is far and away the greatest to ever play the game. Check out this video on Mike’s 10 Best Dunks and remind yourself what being “great” is all about.
8 Points??? Greatest Ever = Advantage Jordan

One good playoff series does not make one the greatest of all time. Having the nickname “King” does not give one who has not earned the right to tread on hallowed ground. Lebron James proved once again in Game 4 of the 2011 NBA Finals that he, while great, will never be the greatest. 8 points in a must win will have that effect on a legacy.
I will say it again. Lebron James is a great player. There is no denying this fact. The real question facing fans, most of whom are not too far from having witnessed Michael Jordan’s greatness, is what has this man done to warrant such comparisons?
Let’s see…multiple playoff appearances…second trip to NBA finals…regular season MVP award…all good. No championships, disheartening playoff exits, labeled as a “guy who shrinks in big moments”, embarassing “Decision” ESPN special where he abandoned his hometown team…not so good.
Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the modern day Dominique Wilkins, Lebron James!
Greatest of all time? Think about it…
Air Jordan vs King James; G.O.A.T?

“Scottie Pippen must have lost his mind.”
That’s the only logical explanation the Repoman could fathom for Pippen’s recent declaration that Lebron James is the best player of all time. On the ESPN Radio Show Mike and Mike, Pippen shared the following:
“Michael Jordan is probably the greatest scorer to ever play the game. I may go so far as saying LeBron James may be the greatest player to ever play the game. Because he is so potent offensively that not only can he score at will but he keeps everybody involved. You have to be on your P’s and Q’s on defense. No guy on the basketball court is a threat to score with LeBron James out there. Not only will LeBron dominate from the offensive end as well, but he’s also doing it on the defensive end, which really makes him the complete package. He’s able to get in those passing lanes, shoot those gaps and create transition opportunities where he is pretty much unstoppable.”
Pass that sh%#, Scottie! Don’t bogart it!
I cannot understand how you had a front row seat to every great moment in MJ’s career and have the nerve to take a show at his legacy. Look, I’m not blind. Lebron James is a great player, and arguably will end up as the best of his era, but he is no MJ. No rings. No signature moments. And, unfortunately for his PR people, it appears that he has no class(“take my talents, please”). The kid has a long way to go.

Rings
MJ – 6
LBJ – pinkie
Verdict?
Air Jordan all day. Let’s keep the comparison talk to a minimum until we can really compare the careers side by side. For now, however, the label “Greatest of all time” rests square on the shoulders of one Michael Jeffrey Jordan.
