Lulzsec Hack exposes more than 62,000 Passwords

Hackers are all the rage these day, with major players like Sony and Sega having their account data compromised and our stolen. According to Techland and Gizmodo, LulzSec, a hacker group that seems attack out of boredom, is the latest hacker to strike, compromising more than 62,000 accounts and releasing their passwords online.
Says Techland, “LulzSec released some 62,000 e-mail addresses and their associated passwords out into the wild this morning. Where these e-mail addresses and their associated passwords came from? That’s unclear.
But you can check if your e-mail address (and, by extension, its associated password) is part of the package that got released, thanks to Gizmodo, which is part of the Gawker network, which built a similar tool back when its own sites were hacked late last year.
If yours is part of the data dump, you’ll want to change any passwords associated with that e-mail address immediately and it’d be a good idea to change as many of your other passwords just to be on the safe side.”.
