Redskins Defense a Fantasy No Go?

Redskins_Defense_InjuryDid you make the mistake of giving into “homer” tendencies and drafting your hometown Defense? Did you reach for an underwhelming squad and find yourself scouring the waiver wire for something, anything, to replace the disappointment that is your starting defense? Well, it is safe to say that you can scratch the Washington Redskins from the list of potential options.

Why? Washington officially will be without the services of two-time Pro Bowler and all-world sack man Brian Orakpo, as well as as starting DE Adam Carriker for the rest of the season. According to ESPN, “Two-time Pro Bowl linebacker Orakpo tore the pectoral muscle near his left shoulder, and defensive end Carriker tore the quad tendon in his right knee in the first quarter of Sunday’s 31-28 loss to the St. Louis Rams.”

They aren’t the only members of this squad hurting, either. ESPN continues, “Two other defensive starters also are nursing injuries. Cornerback Josh Wilson left Sunday’s game with a concussion and will be reevaluated Wednesday, and safety Brandon Meriweather hopes to play this week against the Cincinnati Bengals after missing the first two games with sprained ligaments in his left knee.”

To put it simply, if you need help, look elsewhere.
