Aaron Hernandez Out 2-3 Weeks

aaron_hernandez_hurtAaron Hernandez owners will be scouring the waiver wire in their fantasy leagues this week. The standout tight end will be out at least two weeks with what has been called a high right ankle sprain. He could be out as much as 6 weeks, according to some reports. CBSSports is reporting, “Hernandez suffered the injury Sunday when wide receiver Julian Edelman rolled up on his ankle. Hernandez never recorded a single reception in New England’s loss to the Cardinals.

The injury to Hernandez, who was expected to experience a breakout season in 2012 after posting 79 catches for 910 yards and seven touchdowns in 2011, is debilitating for the Pats offense. They used Hernandez and fellow tight end Rob Gronkowski on every single snap in the first game of the season, a win.”

It might be time to take a flier on the New York Giants Martellus Bennett (if available), the Chargers Dante Rosario (waiver wire wonder), or Tampa Bay’s Dallas Clark (I’m sure he’s there) as a possible short term fix. Yes, that Dallas Clark.
