Zombies are hot right now, with the Walking Dead dominating cable, Zombieland developing a cult following, and countless video game offerings available. Heck, there is even a zombie character featured in a Starburst candy commercial. With gaming, recent years have brought us the great (Resident Evil series) and the not-so-good(Dead Island, anyone?)

The latest zombiefest to hit the small screen is the acclaimed State of Decay. According to TGDaily, “The game is described as an “ambitious zombie-survival open world game” that “will let you put your personal survival plan to the test.”

Perhaps the most interesting description offered for State of Decay is that you can “move through the world like a zombie-slaying badass.” Yeah, that’s the zombie game I want to play.

The studio says the game will allow players to: “Dive through windows, jump on cars, and take it to the living dead with baseball bats. Hop in a truck and mow down some undead pedestrians. Break into the local police station and clear out their arsenal or walk into the local grocery store to stock up on your favourite junk food. The world is your oyster…a shiny oyster that happens to be filled with zombies.””
