NBA 2K12 is a “Go” Regardless of Lockout

Regardless of what happens in their labor negotiations this summer (and face it, the NBA won’t be playing next season), there will be a 2012 season. That is, if you are a fan of the best basketball sim on the market today, NBA2k12.

According to CNN.com, “2K Sports announced Thursday that the cover art of their upcoming NBA simulation game, “NBA 2K12,” will feature not just the return of Michael Jordan but also covers featuring 1980s greats Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. Each athlete will be shown separately on three distinct covers of the video game packaging.

The artwork of each athlete was created for 2K Sports by artist Adam Larson. Larson’s sports work has been highlighted in a cover of ESPN Magazine, featured in art galleries and won numerous awards.”

It appears that 2K12 will be expanding on the highly successful Jordan career mode by adding an additional career mode for both Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. This is sure to up the replay factor for these games in what will likely be a long wait for real NBA action. 2K12 is sure to build on their already stellar gameplay and is definitely the game to get for hoop heads everywhere.

Look for the NBA2K12 in October!
